The power of networking within the steel fabrication industry is key to success for each fabricator. Through the efforts of the AISC, Peddinghaus Corporation, Doyle Structural Solutions, and numerous fabricators throughout the Mid-Atlantic USA region, the Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabricators' Association has been reborn after nearly a decade of inactivity.
On Wednesday, October 30th, 65 industry professionals from the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware met in Willow Grove, PA for the inaugural meeting of the recently re-energized organization. "About seven years ago, the Mid-Atlantic Steel Fabricators' Association went inactive. Thanks to several dedicated industry professionals from throughout the region, the group is back with a strong board of directors. This group is focused on providing top level networking for industry peers, and providing industry insight that will benefit fabricators in their day to day business" stated Stephen Farrow, Vice President of Peddinghaus Corporation.
The recent gathering focused on equipping fabricators with practical information. Industry authorities provided provided insight on negotiating contracts and the very latest in BIM (building information modeling) technology. A final presentation was provided on the concept of localized economies, and the benefits of "buying local". All agreed that the organization is viable, with strong leadership, and is expected to serve for many years to come.
A special thanks to Bill Pascoli from the AISC, and each of the individual fabricators that made this first meeting such a success.
