Steel fabrication is a booming intercontinental industry. With markets varying tremendously across the world, how can international steel fabricators relate to one another? Peddi-TV anchor Lyle Menke sat down with two fabricators, one from Australia and one from Canada, to discover common ground. These fabricators may be from opposite sides of the planet, but they are both combating the same issue – how to stay competitive in today’s globalized steel industry.
When asked "why?", Wayne (Mud) Clarke, Managing Director of Macfab Engineering (Albury, Australia), decided to investigate automation he stated, “After being through the factory, the service that they provide, the way it’s built, you know it’s strong. I think they understand the industry and what we’re trying to achieve”. During his interview, Mud discussed the outlook of steel fabrication in Australia, Mud’s experience on the 2012 Motorcycle Tour, and Macfab’s main markets.
Jeff Nicolajsen, Owner of Sperling Industries (Manitoba, Canada), discussed the opportunities which 5 new Peddinghaus machines present to his shop, the future of the steel industry in Canada, and why they chose Peddinghaus equipment to automate their processes.
