Punching
Two robust 66 metric ton (75 inch ton) hydraulic cylinders mounted on a processing table are employed for punching on the AFPS-643/623. These powerful cylinders aid in the production of a wide variety of angle sizes ranging from 3 mm thick to 15 mm thick (1/8" thick to 5/8" thick).
For faster, more accurate production, the AFPS-643/623 offers a hydraulic hold down clamp unit. This assembly assists during the punching process regardless of tooling clearance. This, in addition to a rugged clamping system allows bent/twisted angle to be processed with ease.
When maintenance or manual tool change is a concern a unique “easy out” die design facilitates tool changes, for expedited production. Each punch stem has key ways machined for correct orientation of shaped tooling. Optional tooling packages are available to achieve very tight gauge lines on any size angle iron.
The 643 Design with 2 Punches per Leg
The 643 Design with 2 Punches per Leg Double tool punching is available with the 643 version of the Peddinghaus Anglemaster. This version utilizes 2 punch stations per hydraulic press, and thus allows the machine to apply up to 2 different hole shapes/sizes per leg without the need to manually change punch and die tooling. The AFPS-643/623 can accommodate shaped holes such as square, rectangular, obround, or slots.
The 623 Design with 1 Punch per Leg
The 623 Design with 1 Punch per Leg The economical AFPS-623 model of Anglemaster utilizes two punch presses, each with one hole diameter per each leg of angle, or flat stock section.
 Material Guidance
The AFPS-643/623 features an unmatched clamping system for a rigid work piece through the machine. Material Guidance The AFPS-643/623 features an unmatched clamping system for a rigid work piece through the machine. Equipped with two hydraulic roller clamps for stabilizing material during production, the AFPS-643/623 maintains center to the primary support wheels. During the Machine cycle, four additional pneumatic hold downs serve to clamp flat and angle iron, assuring accuracy, productivity, and increases tool life.
Shearing
Single cut tooling allows for shearing without the creation of a shear “slug”, ensuring minimum scrap or material waste
Shearing
Featuring a 207 metric ton (230 inch ton) shear, the Anglemaster utilizes single cut tooling which eliminates the creation of a shear “slug”. This ensures minimum scrap and material waste. Changeover time to process angle iron to flat stock is significantly reduced to five minutes, simply change the shear blade.
Measurement
Peddinghaus' Roller Measurement allows for supreme flexibility in regards to material handling, and scrap savings
Roller Measurement
Peddinghaus' Roller Measurement allows for supreme flexibility in regards to material handling, and scrap savings. This unique form of measurement actually drives the material through the machine with a powerful drive roller mechanism. By applying a set of precision encoders that track distance the material has traveled, the machine is able to quickly and accurately produce perfect parts.
Benefits of the Peddinghaus Roller Feed system can include:
- Minimized footprint - store material outside, and allow material to easily pass through a small doorway through the exterior walls of your facility
- No length restriction - stock length is dictated only by weight
- Load profiles of all shapes and sizes one after another without any stop in production - no need to wait for the return or unload of a gripper carriage, no need to change clamping devices

Software
Peddinghaus Peddimat software can be easily integrated into most industry software for both detailing and MRP production
Software
Peddinghaus Peddimat software can be easily integrated into most industry software for both detailing and MRP production. Featuring manual and automatic part generation, quick hole location confirmation, and scaled displays.
- Nesting: Peddinghaus plate machines proudly operate with many of today’s modern nesting software solutions. These solutions allow fabricators to automatically batch nest existing files, edit on the fly, or create parts at the control console. There are no limitations to your programming needs!
- Auto-Nest – Allows the operator to instantly create efficient linear nests for multipart programs. As nests are created, remaining part quantities are automatically updated, further preventing waste.
- Manual-Nest – Parts can be manually nested from prepared cut lists or to meet unusual production needs or schedules.

 Parts Tracking Utility (PTU)
The parts tracking utility is a program created for monitoring production of material on Peddinghaus machines using Siemens controls. Parts Tracking Utility (PTU) The parts tracking utility is a program created for monitoring production of material on Peddinghaus machines using Siemens controls.
This program is not immediately visible to the machine operator and works in the background of the CNC control.
This program creates an output file at a desired location that displays vital information about part production. By monitoring specific internal machine communications, the program will document the use of your machine. This can include an array of items, ranging from the number of holes punched or drilled to the amount of time the operator paused the machine.
Benefits of the PTU - Automatic documentation of production
- Ability to view progress remotely
- Ability to monitor employee productivity
- Elimination of human error in the production monitoring process
Program Requirements
Peddimat version 1.09.07 must be installed on the machine, for the production control to work. This is because the header of the part file that is run on Peddimat version 1.09.07 has to be in a specific order. The machine must have a Siemens 840 Di or newer control.
Material Handling
Eliminates unnecessary crane handling that inhibits other operations inside of your shop
Material Handling
Loading and unloading of long angle iron and flat stock sections, is very expensive and hard work. An Anglemaster material handling system alleviates cost and labor associated with moving sections, with the use of a rapid, automated sequence process. Reduced labor and increasing shop efficiency will result in more profitable processing of angle iron.
Material does not need electricity, heat, or shelter in order to be stored. Peddinghaus' Roller Feed design makes it easy to place material handling outdoors. On top of saving shop space, this innovative method eliminates unnecessary crane handling that inhibits other operations inside of your shop. Easily unload delivery trucks outside, and load conveyor without slowing other parts of your production.
Automatic Angle & Flat Stock Loader
Designed to gradually lower the next stock length into the infeed conveyor system Automatic Angle & Flat Stock Loader Complete with appropriate material storage stands, each 3.6 Meters (12') stand is equipped with a motorized roller chain assembly for automatic advancement of material. A pneumatic indexing assembly is mounted on the AFPS, and is designed to gradually lower the next stock length into the infeed conveyor system.
 Automatic Material Advance
The Powered Material Advance (PMA) device moves material forward that is placed within the clamp Automatic Material Advance The Powered Material Advance (PMA) device moves material forward that is placed within the clamp. After the material stock is loaded onto the infeed, the PMA is capable of moving the material in both directions, as well as “jogged” into position.
The combination exit conveyor and unloading system are designed for 6 Meter (20') material, however, both can be expanded to accommodate any length of part. The conveyor system offers two separate unloader locations, designed to transport sheared angles at speeds up to 61 meter per minute (200 FPM). The Peddimat software system synchronizes and controls the exit conveyor and unloading system.
