I'm Hunter Fry. I'm the president of Ocean Machinery. I moved to Florida in 1989 and founded the company down here.
Well, the Ocean range of machinery is different from others because we cater to the small to medium-sized fabricator.
And that particular niche in the industry is the largest and seems to be ignored by other competitors.
The entire focus of our business is to help fabricators reduce their operating costs.
If we can reduce a fabricator's operating costs, he will make more money, he'll be more successful, but he will also trust us which means that he'll come back for his second, third, possibly even fourth machine purchase.
So the Avenger, with the machine that we first started out, this is still our number one selling product despite the fact that we first introduced it almost 13 years later.
And in my opinion, this machine will continue to sell indefinitely because it takes out the greatest amount of cost out of the fabricator's daily operational budget.
The best selling product line for Ocean has always been and will continue to be the Ocean Avenger drill line which has a really a wide appeal around the world.
We've proudly sold close to 700 of those machines already.
The partnership with Peddinghaus has evolved from one product, which was on our minds and that's where we got started. From there, it grew and now they make several machines for us.
I enjoy talking to customers that buy their first piece of CNC machinery, and how it's changed their productivity, profitability.
It's a big purchase for a customer for a small to medium customer, a mom and pop. And once they make that decision, it leads into other products for them. They are game changers.
Initially, Ocean Machinery started out in the structural steel industry. And the machines that we built were designed specifically for that industry but we've been dragged into a whole range of other industries.
And at this stage, I think that anything that relates to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, is something that we consider.
Having Peddinghaus as a manufacturer and a partner with us allows us to sell confidently knowing that the machines will be backed up 100% by a well-established company.
I think the hardest thing for a small fabricator to do is to reach in his pocket and pull out a couple of a hundred thousand dollars and make a commitment to a piece of machinery.
But let me tell you, for those people that have done this, this has been the single biggest investment of their lives that has yielded the fastest and quickest return on their investment.
And so many of our fabricators have become our personal friends because of the change that had made for their business.
Not only did it make them profitable, but many cases, it gave them their life back.
I'd like everyone to know that Ocean Machinery plans to be around for a long time and continue to support all of our customers every way possible.
We enjoy doing business with them and I think most of our customers have enjoyed the relationships they have with Ocean. We plan to continue that.
