Edit View Menus in Raptor

Published 11/18/2020

Learn how to edit view menus in Raptor.

Hi, I'm Duane Bates, the pre-installation and training department manager at Peddinghaus. In this video, I will be covering the options within the edit and view menus in Raptor.

In the edit menu you will only see the choice for undo. This allows you to undo the last feature you have added to a part. If you added holes or copes to your part, clicking undo will remove the last item, or group of items. Selecting it again will remove the previous items that were applied to your part. The undo icon is also available in the toolbar.

In the view menu you will see three choices. The first is toolbar. If you click this it will turn off the toolbar. That is this group of icons right here. The same is also true for the next choice, the view selection toolbar. Clicking this will turn off this group of icons. The last option is view options. In view options you can change what you see in various areas within Raptor. Our first choice is part view. When you are viewing a part there will be several tabs at the bottom of the page for managing the features on the part. View options allows you to limit the tabs, or the content of those tabs you can see. On the right side you will notice some of the choices have a plus symbol next to them. You can either turn off the tab all together or limit the visible columns. Unselecting a tab will not remove the features from the part. It will only limit your ability to manage them.

Open part and open multipart offer the same types of choices. You can limit which columns you see in the database when you try to open either a part or a multipart.

Tooling allows you to change what you see in the tooling database. If we were on a machine that only uses punches we don't need drill tooling. Conversely, if we were on a drilling machine, we don't need punches in our database. Additionally, we can limit the types of drill tooling and punches we see. Please note not all drilling machines can do all of these functions.

Our next selection, pending parts, allows us to change whatever information we see for the part listed in the pending part window. You can see the part name, profile, quantity, length and lot name. On these particular parts the fields for the assembly name and lot number were blank, so we don't see any values for them.

With batching, just like open part and open multipart, we can limit the columns you see in the databases for the parts and stocks.

Our final choice refers to the sorting of parts in the pending part window. On the right side we see a drop down that allows us to choose a criterion by which the sorting will be accomplished. We can choose none, profile, part name, assembly name, quantity, part length, lot name and lot number. My personal preference is part name. Finally, we have the choice to do the sorting either automatically or manually if left unchecked. Once again, my personally preference is to automatically sort them.

When you're finished with your selection click "save" at the bottom of the window. Your selection will be applied.
