At the heart of Zalk Josephs' evolution lies not one, but TWO, state-of-the-art PeddiAssembler robotic welders. These machines are poised to elevate productivity and precision to new heights.

You know ultimately we started down this path of retooling our shop about three years ago. Before that, we didn't have any Peddinghaus equipment at all in our shop. Ultimately as we as we were looking at what our needs are and what we were trying to do here, Peddinghaus brought the full package to the table that we were looking for from an equipment standpoint, safety standpoint, capabilities, and support and maintenance standpoint as well. So, you know, we were not able to get kind of that, I'll say that full package from any of the other vendors we actually talked to.

Now we went on a visit with Peddinghaus to go look at some installations that they had, and that was one of the big selling points is they took us to facilities that advertised that they really beat up the equipment. Again, that was a huge selling point is, you know, you it can take the abuse that that our industry demands. So it was it's good to see.

Really before our full installation of Peddinghaus equipment, we were in the in the eight-thousand to ten-thousand-ton range depending on the year. Ultimately, we're really looking to be in the twelve-thousand to to fifteen-thousand-ton per year range.

So the PeddiAssembler can four to six times exceed what people can do. You know, even really great fabricators because you're not pulling tape measures, don't need to carry around your square, you set the main member material and essentially, you know, hit the go button and it and it rocks it.

The amount of material that we're able to put through both assemblers, you know, has been has been huge for us.

For us as a company, we're almost open twenty-four/seven and that equipment is constantly running.

You know, one of the biggest factors for us was being able to to cut back on overtime when jobs get pushed, pulled, schedules need to adjust and we need to react accordingly. You know, I think something that the the assemblers have brought to the table for us is not having to just force our guys to to be on overtime all the time.

Yeah. For us with the PeddiAssemblers, safety was number one. And the fact that you don't have employees rotating materials, having to touch smaller components, get them placed and you all but eliminate the human error element, it was a no brainer to make that decision, you know, for us to load materials into the PeddiAssembler and it runs for twenty minutes and does what would have taken a fabricator several hours.

It's super efficient. The welds are super clean. They look great.

And I feel very fortunate. We've made significant strides in growing our company over the last couple of years, and a lot of really good people within our shop, as well as here in the office to support that.

We'll bring in less experienced fabricators, and we can utilize the PeddiAssembler to tack the materials and give new employees sort of a training ground where they can learn how to check that the dimensions are correct and really start to understand drawings, and they can also weld out those components.

You know, relationships mean everything. So, you know, continuing to focus on that as we continue to invest within our shop, invest in new technology, has been really important for us at Z.J.
