My Peddinghaus Story - Laurel Machine Company - Mt. Braddock, PA - USA

Every fabricator has their own story of how they got to where they are today. From the fabricators that started from scratch, to the detailers that started their own shop, each fabricator is unique. With the help of Peddinghaus machinery, Laurel Machine Company out of Mt. Braddock, Pennsylvania, is a busy and fully functional fabrication shop.

Hi. My name is John Novak. I'm from Laurel Machine Company. And this is my Peddinghaus story.

We are considered a job shop. We actually do machine work, which we started out at. Moved in the fabrication work.

Normally all the parts we made went to other assemblies. And customers started asking us, well, can you do this other part of the assembly? Can you do this other part of assembly?

And eventually, we just kept going on and on and did more and more.

Prior to getting the Peddinghaus, we run two saws sawing structural two shifts a day. And we had six ironworkers that ran approximately 10 hours a day. Everything that we use normally processed on the ironworkers we're now processing on the Peddinghaus.

Being a job shop, we process many different jobs every day. And the versatility of the Peddinghaus was just far exceeded anything else that was out there.

A lot of our parts have different hole sizes in each piece in different locations. And this allowed us to process this without any problems.

Lead times are less. Demands are higher. And the big problem today with everybody is skilled personnel. It's just hard to find anybody can do this type of work. And this machine virtually eliminates having to look for those people.
