Among some of the most impressive steel structures in America lies the work of ASM. They never shy away from a project, no matter how complex. If there’s a structural project out there, ASM can confidently bid it with their Peddinghaus machinery. "The new Peddinghaus machines have been crucial to ASM’s success. Today, we’re able to put out 10,000-12,000 tons of steel per year! We even surprise ourselves with what we can handle with the versatility of our machinery."

...and it just makes a huge impact on our success and how fast we can spit out material.

We probably averaged between 10 and 12,000 tons a year, but it varies. Like this year, because of a couple Amazon buildings we've already shipped 11,000 tons. It can go up and down it just depends on the labor hours per the tonnage of the steel. Our relationship is great with Peddinghaus. They treat us well and they know how important it is for my machines to be running all the time. When the parts start out accurate. When the holes are in the right spot. Corners are square. Piece marks are accurate. Clip angles are right. You can't put your finger on how much time you actually save if your piece parts are actually correct and the fabricators they they will cut off half the time if all the sub marks are accurate and that's so huge. That's how we stay in business. You have to have quality. We used to have a Peddinghaus punch line and an older drill line to basically feed the shop steel and once we put in that drill line we basically went down to one machine. It's just that efficient and it's accurate and it can put out just tons of steel.

What I think when I hear Peddinghaus is state of the art structural equipment. In today's age, you know a lot of people are familiar with computer systems. So that's the thing. That you know they come in and see this big machinery and they kind of get intimidated by it, but it's basically running a computer and it is simple to operate. That's what i like about the Peddinghaus most is the user friendly part of it. We've done reaction structures for testing fighter jets and and helicopters and we've done really neat projects. Whether it's a casino or office building or schools, we can go out there and take on any project and be successful. I think the biggest thing is the quality of parts that are being put together like the plate machine. When the accuracy of the parts comes out it makes things so much easier for the fabricator and then it gets rid of the gaps for welding and you're not over sizing welds and just goes down the line. You're putting out a good product and it just makes a huge impact on our success and how fast we can spit out material.
