The PeddiAssembler proved to be a game-changer for Garrison Steel, replacing eight fitting stations and offering an astounding 80% increase in efficiency compared to the manual fitting process. So as far as flow goes, we're, primarily a shotgun-style shop. Everything's loaded onto the drill line, and then it comes down to a split system to where it can, transfer and go through the coper or it can transfer and go to the saw and then passed the saw is our camber machine. Once it comes out of there, it can be staged so that it can go through the Peddinghaus PeddiAssembler.

We had to find a way to have greater capacity.

And this was it was a no-brainer, really, from that standpoint.

I would say when we really started noticing the potential and the speed to the PeddiAssembler, is we started doing a one level, just roof only structure, you know, a fifteen to twenty foot column with base plate on the bottom, roughly four stiffeners up top, two extended shear tabs, two regular shear tabs on the flanges. And, you know, usually, you stage about two to three of those columns in a workstation for a man to do it.

It has been performing operations that, we would have six or seven man hours in in thirty to forty five minutes. So it doesn't. You don't have to be a a math whiz to understand the saving there from a man hour standpoint.

It actually is fabricating columns quicker than we can provide drawings to the shop for columns.

It has increased the production in those eight workstations for the real estate that it's taking up, it's eighty percent more efficient than having eight men working here. The ProFit software is very user friendly. Once you get into that flow of programming and being able to know those key areas to look at the red and green boxes which is having that visual cue, really helps speed up the programming process of it.

Probably one of the most impressive things to me was the first time we got the chance to feed it some, feed it some tubes. And they were, you know, twenty, thirty foot long, you know, eight by eight, ten by ten, HSS tubes, and all they had on it were cap plates on each end. And we were like, okay. Let it fit the two cap plates on each end.

Let it weld it all the way out. And let's just see what the time is, and it was seventeen minutes. And we're like, that was probably the biggest eye opener too. We really can get some time savings out of this.
