From the USA to New Zealand, Peddinghaus customers continue to lead the industry. See how Peddinghaus machines enabled Grayson Engineering to move into new types of fabrication.

I'm David Moore from Grayson Engineering, Auckland, New Zealand. This is our Peddinghaus Story.

We have approximately 105 employees plus at any given time, maybe 15 subcontractors on our books.

We can put out between 10,000 and 15,000 tons per annum.

The company's founded by my father, Patrick Moore, and he was one of the pioneers in New Zealand that started the whole buzzword or the whole procession towards CNC automation.

We've never been shy to invest in technology and machinery that helps reduce our labor input into the type of work we're doing.

We've had a long-standing relationship with Peddinghaus, which dates back well over a decade.

Right from a point of sale, marketing, after-sales service, the back of everything if we honestly can't fault it.

What we've found even notwithstanding the time zone between the United States and New Zealand, we have never ever had a problem either by email or by direct phone conversation, 24/7, to get an answer that will help us at least part of the way or all the way into getting out of our scenario.

The most recent machine we purchased was an FPDB-1800 plate line.

What we're finding with this machine is with the type of software and the design of the machine, we get into some pretty good scrap rates in terms of waste.

As we're down in some cases. Low single figures, 2%, 3%.

Typically, and also depending-- there's a couple of variables here like the thickness of plate, the cutting, the profile, and the amount of holes, but typically, if we're doing that sort of 20- to 25-millimeter plate, we can typically get between 10 and 12 tons of processed product a day.

Going down to the lighter weight, some sort of a 6- to 16-millimeter thick plate, we could typically get between about 5 and 8 tons a day, now once again, depending on the shape and the amount of holes.
