The Hoover-Mason Trestle, once used as a railway to transport iron ore to the blast furnaces at SteelStacks, has been newly reimagined as a pedestrian walkway and concert pavilion in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. See how Levan Associates took the lead on this award-winning walkway project along with major manufacturing facilities, schools, colleges and hospitals by utilizing their Advantage-2 drill line and PeddiWriter layout marking machine.

Some of the biggest projects that we're proud of--we did Deka Battery last year, which was a 375,000-square foot manufacturing facility.

It was a 4,500-ton job. It was a very large project for us.

One of the other ones we did--the Bethlehem Walkway over in SteelStacks--we've done that. We did that last year.

We've won national awards for the Bethlehem project.

All of our Peddinghaus equipment was an integral part of that project.

Company was started in 1985 by my business partner, Scott Davis. I joined him as a partner in 1989.

We're in schools, colleges, hospitals. And we also do the big boxes. We do pretty much anything that has steel in it.

Our Advantage-2 drill line and PeddiWriter--on our old drill line, we'd get 25 to 30 beams a day through our machine. And then, we had to hand lay it out.

With our new one, we're running 65 to 75 beams a day drilled and laid out.

What used to take us an hour and a half to two hours to lay out, we do in nine minutes, 10 minutes at the most.

Having both machines has actually really sped up our production a lot here in the shop. It has made everything flow a lot easier through the shop.

So yeah, I mean, if you really could see the difference between before we had the machines and after we have them, you can really see how things really progress and move from the beginning of the process to the end.

We used to have four--three to four people making plates by hand, burning them by hand, laying them out by hand.

Now, we have one employee back there working 8 to 10 hours a day feeding 19 people, which never could have been done by hand.

We're been able to put more tonnage through our shop more accurately than we ever did before.
